Making cream liqueur, this idea came to our Mr. Gierig a while ago, in the first Covid lockdown to be exact.

First of all, our Golden Egg was created, which was now followed by the Golden Tonka as a supplement. The name says it all, our cream liqueur with egg has been enriched with a lot of tonka.

Tonka, what is that actually?

The tonka tree is native to tropical South America, the Amazon region. Its beans are known for their intense and versatile scent, reminiscent of vanilla, almonds, cinnamon and cloves, but also woodruff. The fruits, which are about 6 cm long, contain the black-brown, wrinkled seeds with their shiny surface, which are so important to us. First, the tonka bean seeds are pickled in rum by the farmers before they dry for several months.  It is only when dried that it develops its incomparable aroma. 

The design of the label is again by the young artist Raphael Gierig, born in 2006.
